Our Department currently consists of 12 full time officers. This hiring is to add an additional officer to our department. We have a Patrol Division and Detective Bureau. Our agency oversees the Andover Township 911 Center which consists of 4 full time personnel and 7 part time personnel. Support staff includes one full time Administrative Assistant. Mission Statement

The Police Department, in serving the people of Andover Township, strives to reduce crime and provide a safe community by:

• Recognizing that its goal is to help people and provide assistance at every opportunity;
• Providing preventive, investigative, and enforcement services;
• Increasing citizen satisfaction with public safety and obtaining community cooperation through the Department's training, skills, and efforts; 
• Realizing that the Police Department alone cannot control crime, but must act in concert with the community and the rest of our Law Enforcement partners.

In achieving this mission, the officers of the Andover Township Police Department will conduct themselves in an ethical manner. They will:

About us

Andover Township is a rural community covering over 21 square miles and serves a population of just over 6,000 people. Located in the southern portion of Sussex County, Andover Township is serviced by US Highway 206 and several county routes making it a hub for local residents, commuters, tourists and commercial transportation. Hidden within the rural character of the Township are several commercial businesses, two schools, an airport and parks and recreation within both the Township and New Jersey State Park land.
