Haddon Township Police Department Hiring For Part-Time Civilian Police Clerk

Position: Part-Time Police Clerk
Salary: $25 Hourly
Schedule: 3 Full Days Per Week
The Haddon Township Police Department is hiring for the position of a full-time civilian police clerk.
Police clerks are essential to the success of the HTPD, working hand-in-hand with our law enforcement officers through the oversight of police records and performance of other clerical tasks.
It is a major duty of police clerks to manage an organized database of police records. As such, this individual will be required to undergo training to become proficient in various police records management systems and data entry processes utilized by HTPD and its partnering agencies. Police clerks also routinely assist assigned officers in extracting information from police reports, entering data for crime analysis, and documenting police evidence or found property.
Additional clerical duties of HTPD police clerks include responding to general requests for information, serving as a liaison between various community groups and the HTPD, notifying police personnel of issues that warrant their attention and greeting in person visitors. Police clerks also oversee fingerprinting, photographing and notary service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must be a resident of New Jersey with a valid NJ driver’s license.
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
- Must be an attentive learner able to become proficient in various technologies used in record keeping.
- Must be organized.
- Must be courtesy with strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person and in writing with police officers, supervisors, township representatives, and the public.
- Must be able to analyze and seek solutions for routine issues and develop effective work methods
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screening.
