WEST WARWICK FIRE DEPARTMENT
ESTABLISHMENT OF A FIREFIGHTER ELIGIBILITY LIST
2024
The Town of West Warwick Fire Department will begin accepting applications for its’ FIREFIGHTER ELIGIBILITY LIST beginning January 5, 2024-January 18, 2024..
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Individuals wishing to apply for the eligibility list must successfully meet ALL the following requirements at the time of application:
• U. S. Citizen, conversant in English;
• 18 years of age at the time of application;
• Must present a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency;
• Must present documentation that you are certified as an Emergency Medical Technician
Cardiac (EMTC) or are currently enrolled in an EMT Cardiac certification course;
*Applicants must have a valid Rhode Island EMT-C license at time of hire and must agree to maintain certification as a condition of employment;
• Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) certification, no more than one (1) year old; administered by the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs. Follow link for further information; https://rifirechiefs.com/ppa-info/
Additional requirements:

NOTE:
Applications will be accepted beginning January 5, 2024-January 18, 2024.
*A swim test will be given to the top qualifying applicants.
Upon being considered for employment you will be required to pass a BCI check and a physical examination by a town appointed physician.
COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN January 18, 2024.
