The Greene County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking qualified applicants for openings in the Patrol Division. Greene County has a jurisdictional area of 408 square miles, including portions of Lake Oconee and Interstate 20. The county is situated halfway between Augusta and Atlanta. With a population of less than 20,000, Deputies have the opportunity to get to know the citizens of the county they work in and build relationships with those in the community.
Duties of a Deputy Sheriff include the service of arrest warrants, service of court documents and subpoenas, court judgments, detection of illegal activity, traffic enforcement, investigation of criminal acts, traffic direction and control, and other duties that may arise.
Certain applicants may qualify for a higher pay grade based on experience and certifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or G.E.D.;
- Hold a GA Peace Officer Certification in good standing;
- Valid Georgia Driver's License;
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation including criminal, controlled substance, driving, work history, and psychological testing.

Salary: $34,136.80 /year
