MEMPHIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
FAST TRACK ENTRY PROGRAM
Targeted Candidates:
Tennessee P.O.S.T. Commissioned Officers (Current or employed with the last 12 months)
Class Start Date:
September 17, 2018
Battery of Test Dates:
N/A - but will have to complete a Firearms Proficiency Test
Academy Period:
6 weeks

Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of combined, continuous full-time, post-academy service as a paid, sworn officer, with a verifiable and favorable work record within a Tennessee P.O.S.T. Commissioned Law Enforcement Agency that employs twenty (20) or more paid, full-time officers within the last 12 months.
OR
- Three (3) years of combined, continuous full-time, post-academy service as a paid, sworn officer, with a verifiable and favorable work record within a Tennessee P.O.S.T. Commissioned Law Enforcement Agency that employs twenty (20) or more paid, full-time officers within the last 12 months and 54 college semester hours or 2 years active military service (or comparable military reserve experience) with honorable discharge.
ALL candidates must also meet the following:
- Must not have been convicted of, or plead guilty (or enter a plea of Nolo Contendenre) to any felony charges.
- Must be at least 21 years of age upon completion of the Police Basic Training Program.
- Must successfully pass entry level requirements and testing (physical, written, background investigation, psychological and medical) for Police Recruit.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition for continued employment.
Must Successfully Complete:
- Background screening
- Firearms proficiency test
- Psychological assessment & clinical interview
- Medical examination
