General Statement of Job

The Help Desk Technician is an I.T. professional responsible for monitoring and responding to the needs of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office computer end users. The Help Desk Technician responds to end users’ needs utilizing various communication methods, in person and through the use of remote management applications. The IT Help Desk Technician is experienced in setting up and installing personal computers, installing and troubleshooting printers, configuring and troubleshooting issues with cellular devices as well as working with a wide variety of IP based technologies. The Help Desk Technician is responsible for configuring and setting up end user accounts, profiles and permissions. He or she supports end users and applications for a diverse array of principles ranging from Law Enforcement, Fire Services, Corrections, Children & Family Services and Animal Control. The IT Help Desk Technician is highly motivated, functions well within a team environment and has excellent customer service skills.  

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Associates Degree in Computer Science and/ or
  • Comptia A+ and/or Comptia Network +
  • In lieu of education 3 or more recent, contiguous years of experience in relative field for position sought.

  • Install, Configure and Troubleshoot agency computing systems
  • Install, Configure and Troubleshoot agency VOIP phones
  • Install, Punch Down, Crimp and Troubleshoot low voltage wire (CAT 5/5e/6/6a) applications to include cable management
  • Perform imaging and recovery operations on agency computing systems
  • Perform hardware component replacements on agency computing systems
  • Perform printer installations and troubleshoot printing issues
  • Troubleshoot user connectivity issues relating to VPN connectivity
  • Add, Configure and Edit User and Computer accounts within Active Directory
  • Add, Configure and Edit Printers within agency Print Servers
  • Add, Configure and Edit User accounts within agency Access Control System
  • Add, Configure and Edit User accounts within agency ID Management System
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot IP camera accounts within agency video management system
  • Review and export video from video surveillance systems
  • Mitigate and respond to threats reported by agency Intrusion Detection Systems (Alien Vault)
  • Mitigate and respond to threats reported by agency Email Security Appliance (Cisco Iron Port)
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) regarding threat analysis data and assessments relating to county firewall (Palo Alto)
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) regarding network routing operations (ITS)
  • Properly install and configure Laserfiche software application
  • Properly install and configure New World RMS
  • Properly install and configure Shelter Pro RMS
  • Properly install and configure EMPRO RMS
  • Properly install and configure Fire House RMS
  • Properly install and configure CPU applications
  • Properly install and configure Fleet Maintenance Pro
  • Properly install and configure Fuel Master
  • Properly install and configure Quarter Master
  • Properly install and configure PMP
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within New World
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within Smartcop
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within agency Fuel Systems
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within agency Body Camera Systems
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within RSA
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot User accounts within Office 365
  • Add, Configure, Edit and Troubleshoot cellular accounts
  • Coordinate with Vendor for troubleshooting issues relating to agency cellular accounts
  • Coordinate with Vendor for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to On Target PMP software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to ADG software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to EMPRO software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to Firehouse software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to Emergency Pro software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to ESO EMS RMS software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to ESO EMS Billing software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to Shelter Pro software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to Laser Fiche software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to Cloud based ID software application
  • Coordinate with Vendor(s) for troubleshooting Database and Application issues relating to New World RMS software application
  • Provide after-hours support for night shift personnel (on call)
  • Provide Technical Support for New World Systems Applications to Other Government Agencies (SAO)
  • All other duties as directed by superiors

Standards to Perform Job Functions

 

Physical Requirements:  Position may involve frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, stooping, and periodic moving/lifting of heavy items exceeding 50 lbs.

Hiring Process –
