Our mission is to serve as law enforcement professionals while enhancing quality of life and strengthening community relationships.

The Town of Cumberland's Police Department is a well respected, exemplary police department, highly engaged in the community, and a model for the very best community policing. Every member of the Department has personal pride in himself/herself, their fellow officers, as well as the collective performance of the Department.

The Town of Cumberland is a suburban/rural community that stretches west from Casco Bay towards the lakes region, between Portland and Freeport. Over 8,300 people reside in town. Cumberland is home to the Cumberland County Fair and the MSAD 51 school system. Also located in town are working farms, apple orchards, businesses, two interstate highways, commuter and freight rail lines, Twin Brook Recreation facility, and Val Halla Golf Course.
