ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT

The Town of Seabrook was incorporated in 1768. It is located in the southeast corner of the state and borders the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Seabrook is a vibrant community and popular vacation destination. From its pristine beach to the lobster pounds, as well as an abundance of shopping opportunities, there's something for everyone.

Seabrook's ideal location in the center of New England makes it convenient not only to the Atlantic Ocean, but to nearby destinations like the White Mountains and the wonderful lakes of southern and central New Hampshire.

The Seabrook Police Department is comprised of 30 full time sworn officers, with 4 part time officers and 7 civilian staff. You will find that the folks here at Seabrook P.D. are capable and professional, with an emphasis on service. 

Automatic Disqualifiers for Employment

  • Used marijuana within 12 months.
  • Illegally used a controlled substance, other than marijuana, within 36 months; unless the applicant was under 21 years of age at the time of use, in which case 24 months shall apply.
  • Manufactured, transported for sale, or sold a controlled substance.
  • Used a controlled substance while employed in a law enforcement capacity.
  • Been dishonorably discharged from military service.
  • Been convicted of a felony.
  • Been convicted of a misdemeanor involving dishonesty, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence, controlled substances, moral turpitude, or any offense that would cause a reasonable person to doubt the applicant's character, honesty, or ability.  

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum age of 21 at the time of application closing date.
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Pass written exam (Great Bay Test within 1 year of closing with score or 70% or above).
  • Physical Agility Test, oral exams, medical exam, psychological exam.
  • Extensive background investigation.
  • Polygraph exam.
  • Full time certified police officer(s) are preferable (preference will be given to current full time certified officers).

Physical Agility Test

The Seabrook Police Department will administer the Physical Agility Test.  Upon successful processing of your application, you will receive an e-mail with the date and time of the Physical Agility Test.  The e-mail you provided on the application will be the only correspondence you will receive notifying you of the Physical Agility Test.  The Physical Agility Test date may also be indicated on the Physical Fitness Assessment Waiver Form. 

Applicants must complete and review the 1) Physical Fitness Assessment Waiver, 2) Physical Agility Test Standards, and 3) Medical Clearance Report.  All three completed and reviewed forms are required to be submitted at the Physical Agility Test in order to participate.  These forms can be located at www.seabrookpd.comin the “Police Testing Information” link.

No one will be allowed to participate in the Physical Agility Test without the completed Physical Fitness Assessment Waiver, Medical Clearance Form, and positive identification.

Pay/Benefits

This is a full-time position within the Seabrook Police Association and works under the direct supervision of the Seabrook Police Chief.  The position is within the collective bargaining agreement between the Seabrook Police Association and the Town of Seabrook.  A portion of the terms of the contract are as follows:

  • Wages $27.59-$44.91 per hour full-time
