Job Announcement

City of Meriden, Connecticut  is testing for Fire Fighters

The application process will close on August 12, 2022.  Individuals are encouraged to read this entire announcement and review the CPAT information available above prior to submitting an application.  A non-refundable $85.00 application fee is required at time of application submission. 

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have valid Green Cards; high school diploma or equiv.; must pass a background check prior to appointment; become a certified firefighter, EMT-B, and obtain a CT license to drive fire apparatus within one year of appointment. Exam procedure includes a written test, interview, and applicant must possess a valid CPAT card at the time of conditional job offer. Applicants who do not possess a valid CPAT card at the time of conditional job offer will be bypassed but kept on the eligibility list. The eligibility list will be valid for one year with the option to extend for another year.

The Written Test has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday October 15, 2022.  This date is subject to change.

Important: In order to arrange for the Connecticut Physical Ability Test, you need to register for the CPAT test by submitting the "CPAT Registration forms" available at the following link

It is anticipated that the written test will be held in October 2022. Applicants will be notified of the written test date via email.  Applicants should check their email and FirefighterApp.com account for details regarding this recruitment process, test results and advancement in this testing process.  Therefore, you must check your e-mail often.
