LACONIA PD INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
The Laconia Police Department strives to provide valuable insight into the profession of Law Enforcement with a meaningful and involved Internship Program.
Our goal is to attract students who wish to enter a career in Law Enforcement. Generally we limit the number of interns to two for each quarter or school semester. We do accommodate off semester Internships ( Summer Program ). We have historically employed our interns as Police Officers following their graduation.
Our Interns are a part of the Police family. We will expose you to the are of Law Enforcement in the City based upon your interests. We can expose you to the K-9 program, SWAT Operator training, ride along program, Crime Lab Tour, Evidence Technician/processing, Court room, etc.
We would expect that our interns will assist us with clerical projects, crime analysis research, filing, etc.
Our Interns have to pass a background investigation and sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements in order to participate. The first step for you is to create an online profile on www.policeapp.com to upload your resume and complete the Internship/Work Study questionnaire. We will also require a confirmation letter from the College or University Department Head approving and recommending your participation with our Internship Program. The school letter can be uploaded to your profile on Police app.
Once these have been received, you will then be contacted to advise you of the availability and/or to arrange for an in person interview. For more information, please contact Lieutenant Mike Finogle at mfinogle@laconiapd.org.
