TOWN OF EAST GREENWICH ANNOUNCES PROCESS TO CREATE 

ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR THE POSITION OF

POLICE OFFICER

Individuals who wish to be considered for employment by the Town of East Greenwich as a Police Officer must, at the time of application, be a U.S. or naturalized citizen, at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous applicants are encouraged to re-apply.

Items that must be turned in with your application are:

• Copy of birth certificate or naturalization papers; and
• Copy of High School diploma or certified transcript; and
• Copy of valid motor vehicle license
•  

Potential candidates must complete and successfully pass a physical agility test* (see attached) agilityrequirements.pdf  *NOTE: A current FIT 2 SERVE certification will be accepted in lieu of the test. (A signed medical certificate, dated within 6 mos. of the test date, will be required for entry to the agility test. The blank form will be provided to you when the application process closes.)

There will also be a written examination, oral interview, psychological evaluation, drug screening and a thorough background investigation. You will be notified of test dates, times and locations.

Salary Range $44,023 Probationary Ptlm one year, Then Salary steps $56,629 - $64,256
