DARIEN POLICE DEPARTMENT
CERTIFIED CONNECTICUT POLICE OFFICER

BENEFITS INCLUDE:
Sick leave, paid vacation, 12 paid holidays (can be cashed out or used as time off), pension plan, group life insurance, group health insurance, longevity increases, tuition reimbursement. Opportunity for extra duty pay, 20-year retirement with no age limitation. *Salary range $81,703-$111,088 (after 5 pay steps, doesn't include holiday pay, longevity pay, differential pay, etc.) Certified officers begin at pay step 2. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Certified police officers must meet the following application requirements:
Have a current POST certification
Earn a minimum of 30 credits from an accredited college or university, and are required to attach a copy of their diploma or academic transcript(s) to their application at time of submission.
A resume and copy of the candidate’s current certification must also be submitted with the application.
A minimum passing score of 70% on the CPCA Certified Officer Exam
Complete and successfully pass a staff interview and in-house physical agility (CHIP test standard), Police Commission interview, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, medical examination and a thorough background investigation.
