Linwood Police Department, NJ Public Safety Jobs

The Linwood Police Department is accepting applications for the hiring of two Class II Special Police Officers. Qualified applicants MUST have satisfactorily completed a Basic Course for Class II Special Police Officers as prescribed by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. A copy of the valid certification MUST accompany the application.

Applicants must:

Be a U.S. citizen.

Be a resident of New Jersey by the date of appointment.

Be at least 21 years of age and no older than 35 years of age.

Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license by the date of appointment.

Be able to read and write the English language.

Pass a physical fitness indicator test.

Pass oral interviews with a Police Panel and the Chief of Police and Mayor.

Be of good moral character and has not been convicted of a criminal offense involving moral turpitude.

Pass a background investigation.

Pass a psychological examination.

 

Class II Special Police Officer Duties will include Court Duties, Traffic Enforcement and addressing Quality of Life Issues.

Special Class II Officers will receive 20 hours a week and an hourly pay of $20.00.

 

Applications may be picked up at the Linwood Police Department, located at 400 Poplar Ave. Linwood, NJ 08221. Applications may be picked up starting on 01/17/2020 before 4:00 pm. Applications must be picked up Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm and must be completed and returned to the Linwood Police Department in accordance with the enclosed instructions no later than 4:00 pm on 01/27/2020.
