Job Announcement

                                                                Communications Specialist-Full Time

If you're looking for a rewarding career then consider applying to the Plymouth Police Department as a Communication Specialist.  You will be the link between citizens and field personnel who respond to their needs. You will provide valuable services that enhance the quality of life for the residents of Plymouth as well as 9 other Law Enforcement Agencies that we dispatch for. Duties are varied and may include: the following:

Receiving, answering, and processing 911 emergency calls

Receiving non-emergency calls

Dispatching  units to calls for service

The desired applicant will show the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and the ability to multitask.

Qualifications and Minimum 

High School diploma or GED

Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-=paced setting and respond to questions

Ability to work required shifts with Holiday and weekend assignments

Preference will be given to trained, certified dispatchers or those with prior Police Dispatching experience, however, prior experience is not required. The selection process will include a written test, personal interview (oral board) and a back ground check, to include a polygraph examination. Salary range is from $19.20 to $26.33 per hour based on experience.
