Town of New Fairfield
PART TIME DISPATCHER
GENERAL DUTIES:
Receives calls from the public for assistance and dispatches and coordinates responses of public safety agencies (e.g., Police, Fire, EMS).
SCHEDULE:
Flexibile hours and days. Monday - Friday 4 PM - 11 PM and Saturday - Sunday 8 AM - 11 PM. Shifts are in 4 -6 hour increments as a Second Dispatcher.
Extra shifts may be available. Open Holidays are paid time and half.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two year’s experience in public safety dispatch
- Experience with CAD, computer-aided dispatch
- Must possess and maintain COLLECT/NCIC certification, APCO EMD certification, AT&T E-911 certification and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to multitask and be self-starter
- Ability to work alone and in high stress situations
- Excellent customer service skills
