About the Allendale Police Department

The Allendale Police Department is a state accredited law enforcement agency serving a suburban community in northern Bergen County. The department consists of 16 sworn police officers comprised of three main divisions: Administration, Investigations, and Patrol. The department is structured to include a Chief of Police, a Lieutenant, Sergeants, Detectives, Patrol Officers, and Class Three Special Law Enforcement Officers (SLEO III).

Patrol follows a Pitman Schedule, which allows for every other weekend off. Currently, the department has officers assigned to the Bergen County Rapid Deployment Force, the Bergen County Regional Swat Team Crisis Negotiations Team, and the Bergen County Police Academy as Recruit Instructors. The department permits neatly groomed beards and implements a Workout on Duty policy. Top Patrolman salary for the current contract is of $174,139.
