Full-Time Firefighter/Inspector
Bensalem Township Fire Rescue, which is part of the Bensalem Twp. Department of Public Safety, is hiring for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Inspector. This role requires working 84 hours per two-week pay period, based on the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) effective January 2026.
Position Details & Compensation
- Salary: $64,342 - $90,079 (Starting salary is $64,342; AFTER 5 years, end of contract (2026) $90,097, plus holiday pay. plus, annual January 1st increases and work anniversary increases as per the CBA. Benefit package, etc.
- Tentative Start Date: January 5 or January 19, 2026
- Schedule: Seven 12-hour shifts per two-week pay period, Monday through Friday, with a rotating day off. (On-duty three days one week, four days the next week)
- Duties: emergency response (Fire, Rescue, HazMat, and EMS), fire prevention code enforcement, and public safety education.

Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen
- Minimum of 21 years old
- High school diploma or equivalency
- A valid driver’s license
- Firefighter I certification (IFSAC or PRO BOARD)
- Hazardous Materials Operations certification (IFSAC or PRO BOARD)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fire Inspector I; PA UCC Fire Inspector Cert*
- PA Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)*
- EVOC*
- Firefighter II
- Pump I
- NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800
- Basic Vehicle Rescue Technician (BVR)
*Required within one year

Selection Process:
A number of applicants will be selected for interviews during the first week of December. A limited number of eligible candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon a successful medical exam, psychological evaluation, polygraph, and background investigation.
Personnel are required to establish and maintain a residence within 12 miles of the boundary of Bensalem Twp. within a 3-month period following the expiration of their probationary period (12 months).
