The mission of the Bolton Police Department is to forge a working partnership with all persons within the Town of Bolton, regardless of age, race, sex, religious or ethnic backgrounds. Through mutual respect and understanding we will solve problems in an effort to promote a better standard of living throughout the community. By embracing both the traditional values and innovative spirit that makes Bolton unique, we will reduce fear, control crime, and enhance the quality of life within the community.

About Us:

Incorporated in 1738, Bolton is located in central Massachusetts at the eastern edge of Worcester County, bordering Middlesex County. It's territory consists of roughly 20 square miles, with approximately 100 miles of roadway, and a population of approximately 5,700 residents. For most of its historical existence Bolton has been a rural community, with farms and orchards. Today its remaining agricultural base has been reduced, and the town has evolved into a largely residential community, yet retains much rural character.

The town is bisected north to south by Interstate 495, and east to west by Rt. 117.

Bolton is the host community to Nashoba Regional High School, for students from Bolton, Lancaster & Stow.
Numerous hiking trails and conservation areas are throughout town, and several small natural ponds provide local fishing and recreational activities. The Commonwealth owned Bolton Flats Wildlife Management area at the west side of town provides opportunities for hunting, fishing, bird watching, and canoeing.

Governed by a town government structure, with a 3-member Selectboard, Bolton encourages community engagement through open town meetings and resident involvement on numerous boards and committees.
