About Us

The Long Ridge Fire Company serves approximately 14 square miles of North Stamford, Connecticut, encompassing more than 3,500 homes and businesses and a population exceeding 7,500 residents. The district includes approximately 68 miles of roadways and is characterized by a predominantly residential landscape, heavily wooded properties, and a mix of suburban and rural environments. The area is also home to two large reservoirs, Laurel Reservoir and North Stamford Reservoir, along with numerous ponds, streams, and other waterways. These characteristics present unique firefighting and emergency response challenges, including large properties, extended access routes, and limited hydrant coverage usually requiring tanker shuttle operations.
