Beacon Falls is a rural town of approximately 6,000 residents operating in partnership with CT State Police under the Resident Trooper Program.
We are a small agency with a strong focus on community relations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Have a valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License, and be mentally and physically fit to perform the duties of a Police Officer, and be a citizen of the United States
- Must hold valid State of Connecticut POST (Police Officer) certification, which must be current at the time of appointment and maintain certification during employment
- Must have been employed and certified as a Police Officer in the State of Connecticut, AND NOT have had more than two years of separation from a law enforcement unit
- Must be able to meet and maintain throughout employment established physical, medical and psychological requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid Connecticut driver's license
- Must pass a background investigation
Job Description/General Duties:
- The position responds to calls for service.
- Patrols assigned areas.
- Enforces criminal traffic laws and town ordinances.
- The job involves investigating crimes and vehicle accidents and assisting other Federal, State, and Local Agencies.
- The work consists of routine patrol tasks that involve personal responsibility for the enforcement of all laws and ordinances and the protection of lives and property.
