BETHEL POLICE DEPARTMENT

IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER

                 ********************$15,000 sign on bonus for CT Certified Officers ********************

  

The Bethel Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. CT POST Certified applicants are encouraged to apply. Out of State Certified also welcome to apply.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. Citizen
  • High School Graduate/G.E.D.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • NO Felony or Class A or B Misdemeanor Convictions. 
  • Lateral (Certified) entry requires current certification as a sworn CT Law Enforcement Officer or Out of State. 

 

SALARY 

Anticipated Salary Range: up to $100,987*   

  *top step with incentives

New hires can be brought in at higher steps depending on experience.

 

BENEFITS

25 year Pension (60%; 70% @ 30 Yrs), 20 year at age 55

plus 457 Deferred Comp. Program, Education Incentive, and Tuition Assistance, etc.

Certified officers can buy back up to two years of prior law enforcement.


TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Physical Agility Exam may be held by the Bethel Police Department
