The Borough of North Plainfield Police Department has one full time Police Officer position available immediately. Applying candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Is a citizen of the United States.
• Able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently and has a high school diploma or equivalent.
  is of good moral character and sound body and in good health.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Has not been convicted of any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to perform the duties of the office.
• Is a resident of New Jersey and possesses a valid NJ driver’s license.
• NJ Police Training Commission certified, currently enrolled in a PTC NJ Police Academy Alternate Route program or Special Law Enforcement Officer II certified shall be considered.
• In an effort to match the community we serve, extra consideration is given to candidates who are fluent in the Spanish language.
