NORTH PROVIDENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT
LATERAL TRANSFER
The North Providence Police Department is currently accepting lateral transfers of POST certified police officers. The Department is budgeted for sixty-five (65) sworn officers, who are responsible for the protection of a diverse population of approximately 34,000 residents. Department members receive a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package, which includes:
- Starting salary of $62,918/Top step $72,995 (A lateral transfer’s time in their previous position will be honored and reflect their starting salary);
- Thirteen (13) paid holidays (Additional $3,356 to $3,894 Annually)
- Longevity increases after five (5) years of service beginning at 6.5% up to 12.5% after 20 years of service;
- 20 year retirement at 50% salary, 2% each additional year after 20 and 3% COLA;
- Health and dental insurance;
- Paid sick, vacation, personal and compensatory leave;
- Clothing allowance and maintenance costs;
- College tuition reimbursement up to a Master’s Program
