PENNINGTON BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT
FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER
INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON A ROLLING BASIS UNTIL THE POSITION IS FILLED
The Pennington Borough Police Department is currently seeking candidates for immediate hire for the position of probationary police officer. This job posting is for certified candidates.
Candidates who possess a basic course for police officer certification, alternate route recruits currently attending a PTC approved police academy and waiver eligible class II certifications will be accepted. The starting salary is negotiable based upon experience.
We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated, proactive and interested in working in a close-knit, community-oriented police department. Do not call the police department with questions pertaining to this process.
Benefits
- $100 per hour extra duty rate
- 12-hour pitman schedule
- Medical for retired officers and their dependents after 25 years of service with the Boro
- Annual increase for officers that possess a bachelor’s degree
- Annual increase for officers that possess a current NJ EMT Cert
- PFRS
- Medical coverage, including dental and vison
- Paid time off
- $1,000 per year uniform allowance
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States.
- Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license at the time of application.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED).
- Ability to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer as per NJ PTC requirements.
- No indictable criminal history conviction and of good moral character.
- Possess a BCPO or Class II certification or currently attending a NJ PTC approved police academy
