NJPTC CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
Thank you for your interest in the Ridgefield Park Police Department. We are an accredited police agency with a highly respected tradition of excellence in police service. Members of our agency are professionals who proudly perform law enforcement services on a daily basis for the citizens and all those who pass through the Village.
We are currently accepting resumes for NJ PTC certified candidates.
Interested parties must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of the Unites States
- Be a resident of New Jersey with a New Jersey Driver’s License
- Be able to read, write, and speak the English language
- Healthy both physical and mentally
- Of good moral character, no convictions for criminal offenses of moral turpitude
- Possess a valid New Jersey Police Training Commission Certification
- As per 40A: 14-127, candidates shall be between 18-35 years of age at the time of appointment
- Not be prohibited from purchasing, owning, possessing or controlling a firearm as per 2C:39-7 or prohibited from obtaining a firearms ID card or Permit to Purchase a handgun as per 2C: 58-3
- No college requirement for entry level hires or transfer applications, however tin order o participate in a promotional process with our agency you are required to have a BA or BS degree. If you have a PTC Certification to be a Police Officer, you are eligible to apply.
