The position of
POLICE OFFICER
The Saddle River Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must possess a valid New Jersey PTC certification OR be currently enrolled in a New Jersey PTC certified Police Academy, Basic Police Officer course.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No person shall be appointed as a member of the Police Department unless he is a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of New Jersey, is sound in body and of good health, is able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently and is of good moral character;
- No person shall be appointed as a member of the Police Department who has been convicted of any crime constituting an indictable offense or who has been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude;
- No person shall be appointed as a member of the Police Department except in compliance with state statutes;
- Age of not less than 21 years or more than 35 years, unless currently a member of the Policemen's and Firemen's Pension System (PFRS), who may exceed 35 years of age;
- Must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey at the time of appointment;
- Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license at the time of appointment;
- Must possess a bachelor's degree.
