Special Projects/Grants  Manager

Current Vacancy Announcement:

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: Minimum annual salary of $50,000.00 or commensurate with experience.

 

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking qualified applicants for the position of Special Projects and Grants Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead, manage, and implement special projects and grants for the Agency.
  • Working with the management team, identify needs within the agency and develop strategies for improvement, including process improvement, software upgrades, and improvement in communications.
  • Based on organizational needs and projects, research and identify any potential grants that are available for funding sources.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables and coordinate with grant guidelines.
  • Complete grants applications, budgets, and written narratives.
  • Oversee and track special projects and grants, including implementation, training, timelines, and budgets to achieve desired results.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of projects and grants to the management team and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, including all required grant reports, to define project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Reports to Chief Financial Officer, but projects and grants will cover all aspects of the organization.

 

 

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills along with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good understanding of the Agency’s overall objectives
  • Ability to work with a team and provide support to staff
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using computers, related software programs, and conducting research by internet.

 

Minimum Training and Experience:

  • Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Applicant must have prior experience in project management or grants management.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have certifications from recognized institutes with specialized courses in project management or grant management.

 

HIRING PROCESS:

Applicants may be required to successfully complete:

  • Background investigation which includes, but is not limited to: criminal check, driving check, credit check, previous employment check
  • Polygraph Examination
