General Statement of Job 


The Accreditation Manager is responsible for managing accreditation and compliance activities
within the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. The Accreditation Manager ensures that departmental
program operations are in compliance with accreditation standards, departmental standard
operating procedures and State/Federal mandates. The Accreditation Manager identifies, verifies
and reconciles compliance with established departmental standards and corrects any noted
deficiencies.


Qualifications 


• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of accreditation compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of accreditation process.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards.

• Regular and prompt job attendance.
• Manages accreditation and compliance activities within the Walton County Sheriff’s
Office.
• Maintains departmental policies and forms and ensures compliance with accreditation
standards
• Recommends changes to policies and procedures when indicated by accreditation updates,
changes or modifications; maintains a standard format for policies to be reviewed and
revised on a scheduled basis
• Maintains accreditation files.
• Coordinates mock and on-site assessments and inspections.
• Prepares and submits required reports and documentation to accrediting bodies.
• Conducts random, unannounced inspections of departmental personnel and facilities for
the purpose of assessing compliance with accreditation standards.
• Serves as liaison between administration, other departmental personnel and outside
agencies in all accreditation and compliance efforts.
• Ensures appropriate training for all department personnel on all new and revised policies.
Coordinates the department’s self-assessment and other preparations made in advance of
initial or renal of accreditation.
• Collects and maintains required proofs
• Submits yearly reports to the accreditation bodies to maintain accreditation status.
• Prepares the department for re-accreditations
• Makes recommendations based on accreditation inspections and assists other agencies,
sections, and divisions in their accreditation efforts.
• Attends and participates in accreditation meetings and serves on accreditation related
committees.


Required Skills 


• Knowledge in business assessments, training methods, file-building techniques and
requirements for assessor reviews.
• Demonstrated ability in the collection and presentation of data.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge, interpretation and application of policies, procedures, general orders and
directives.
• Demonstrates self-initiated activity in order to contribute to the goals consistent with the
agency vision.
• Demonstrates congenial, respectful, and productive behaviors and attitudes towards others
in working relationships and situations.
• Adequate abilities in developing and revising organizational workflow.
• Planning and scheduling skills.
• Efficiently organizes, prioritizes, schedules and manages daily work activities, tasks, and
special assignments.


Standards to Perform Job Functions 


Physical Requirements:

Sit up to 7 hours per day, stand up to 1 hours per day, walk up to 1
hours per day, occasionally lift up to 10 lbs., bend, squat, climb, reach, kneel, and/or twist.
