- Calls for service is approximately 40,000

- Hawthorne Police Department is a police force of 39 officers that feels like a close-knit family.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid CPR w/AED certification
- Valid Basic Telecommunications Officer or 911 Officer certification
- Valid Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or greater
- Read, write, speak English well (Bi-lingual a plus.)
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Be of good moral character
Job Description/General Duties:
- Receive and field emergency and non-emergency phone calls
- Provide emergency medical instructions to callers
- Dispatch appropriate public safety personnel in a professional and timely manner
- Record and track calls for service in a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system
- Process AOC, DMV, NLETS, NJLETS, and NCIC inquiries and entries for law enforcement officers
Salary/Benefits:
- Full-Time:$43,200 to $57,011
- Per Diem: $20-$24.75
