Job Announcement:

The Absecon Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
No prior law enforcement experience is required. Qualified non-certified applicants may be considered for a potential January 2027 Police Academy start date.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age and no older than 35 years of age
- Be a resident of the State of New Jersey
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be of good moral character
- Have no criminal history or other disqualifying circumstances that would prevent the issuance of a New Jersey Police Training Commission license
All applicants must participate in and successfully complete a physical training assessment to determine eligibility for employment. Physical training standards and assessment requirements are available upon request.
Salary
The starting salary for this position is $52,000 per year. Applicants with prior qualifying law enforcement experience may be eligible for a starting salary of up to $61,505 per year.
Application Fee
A $35 application service fee is required at the time of submission. This fee is charged by the application service provider. The Absecon Police Department does not receive any portion of the application fee.
