Carlisle Police Department
The Borough of Carlisle, county seat of Cumberland County, will be hosting physical fitness and written examinations in order to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer. Testing will be administered on Sunday October 20, 2019 beginning at 8am at the Carlisle High School track located behind the High School at 623 W Penn St, Carlisle, PA 17013. The physical fitness testing will be immediately followed by a written examination.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time of testing, a United States citizen, possess a valid driver’s license, and a clean criminal record. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Although not required, applicants with Act 120 training are encouraged to apply.
Annual base salary: $58,926 to start, $73,632 after 5 years (2019 salary schedule)
Benefits include: medical insurance for employees and dependents; paid dental, vision, life, and long-term disability; 50% retirement after 25 years at age 50; 12 sick days; 11 holidays; 6 personal days; longevity pay of $100/year after 4 years; $850/year uniform allowance; and educational reimbursement.
