Are you ready to serve your community with honor and professionalism? The Clinton Police Department is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as entry-level officers. As a nationally accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement and community policing.

Position Details:

We are currently accepting applications for full-time Police Officers. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree preferred)
  • Valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
  • At least 21 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Good character and high moral standards
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, medical and psychological examinations, as well as physical agility and written tests
  • Ability to attend a POSTC Academy to receive the comprehensive training necessary to become a certified Police Officer. 
  • Other special requirements may apply

  • Current Salary Range of Patrol Officers: $72, 918.59 to $91, 309.73
  • Starting Probationary Salary on 07/01/2026: $72, 918.59
  • Top Step Pay on 07/01/2026: $91, 309.73
