Job Announcement:
The East Brookfield Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Part-Time Police Officer. Candidate Minimum Qualifications: U.S. citizen, at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a valid Massachusetts License to Carry or the ability to possess one. Applicants must also have either graduated from the M.P.T.C. Full-Time Academy, or the M.P.T.C. Reserve Academy along with the M.P.T.C. Bridge Academy in accordance with P.O.S.T. requirements.
Successful Candidates will be expected to work nights, weekends, and holidays, pass a background check, have an acceptable driving record, and provide a recent physical and psychological examination.
Currently, part-time officers rate of pay is $21.45 per hour (expected to go to $25.00 on July 1st), shift differential is $1.00 for 3-11 and $1.50 for 11-7 (expected to go to $.150 and $2.00 July 1st), time and one half for any holiday worked, detail rate is $61 (expected to go to $64 July 1st). Part-time officers are also allowed to work details requested by other agencies under mutual aid.
