NOW HIRING

FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE by March 5, 2023

Greenfield Police Department will be accepting Applications from January 16, 2023 through March 5, 2023. The Physical Agility and Written Test will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 0800; all applicants will be contacted via email with additional information.

This is an open hiring process and Laterals are encouraged to apply.  Lateral candidates (ILEA or equivalent certification) will not complete the formal written test or structured interview. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be US Citizen
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age, but not older than 39 at the time of appointment
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
  5. No felony convictions
  6. Must be able to possess firearms
  7. Must be able to pass the following:
  8. Indiana Law Enforcement Agency Physical Agility Exit Standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/)
  1. Written Exam
  2. Oral Interview
  3. Voice Stress Analysis or Polygraph Test
  4. Background Check
  5. PERF Medical/Psychological exam.
  6.  

HIRING PROCESS:

  1. Physical Agility and Written Test (Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 0800hrs.  Location TBD)
  2. Oral interview (to be conducted the week of May 14, 2023)
  3. Background check
  4. Voice Stress Analysis
  5. PERF medical/psychological exam clearance
  6. Field Training Program
  7. Successfully graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy within 1 year of being hired

SALARY:

  • Probationary: $61,815.98
  • Lateral Hires: Up to $67,910.38

$3,000 Max Longevity Yearly ($150/year of service)

JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES:

Incumbent serves as Patrol Officer for the Greenfield Police Department, responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws. Serving and protecting individuals, their rights, and property.  Building stronger community relationships daily.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

Population of Greenfield is 24,000+, we are currently hiring 1 officer and creating a candidate list. We respond to around 25,000 calls a year. The city has a lot of new growth with several trails and parks.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum passing score for the Written exam is 70%. Must pass the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Physical Agility exit standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/).
