NOW HIRING GENERAL & LATERAL APPLICANT POLICE OFFICERS
The Hobart Police Department is now accepting applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at Least 20 years of age to apply and 21 years of age on date of appointment and no more 39 years age unless already a member of 1977 Indiana Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF)
Hold a high school diploma or GED
Be a United States Citizen
Possess a valid driver's license
Have no prior felony convictions
- SALARY
Starting Salary: $57,750 (2025) $58,905 (2026)
Salary after 1 year (Lateral Applicants after FTO): $72,161 (2025) $73,604 (2026)
PERF Retirement Rate $80,553 (2025) $84,471 (2026)
Longevity Pay up to $4750/yr

12 Hour Shifts (every other weekend off)
Vacation Time - 2wks first full year, 3wks after 5yrs, 4wks after 10yrs and 5wks after 15yrs.
