Applications open February 22, 2021. Applications may be obtained on-line at www.PoliceApp.com. The deadline for submitting the completed application is Monday, March 15, 2021. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. No mailed applications will be accepted.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- All applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
- All applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age upon return of the application.
- All applicants must possess a high school diploma or a GED.
- Each applicant shall pay a non-refundable fee of $35.00 upon submitting the application to cover the cost of the written test. Please be advised that PoliceApp will charge an additional non-refundable processing fee. .
WRITTEN EXAMINATION
A written examination is scheduled for Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Lebanon High School, 1000 South 8th Street, Lebanon, PA.
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST
All applicants who take the written examination will be given a physical agility test at the Lebanon High School, 1000 South 8th Street, Lebanon, PA. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM. In addition, all Non-Act 120 applicants will be given the physical agility entrance exam for the HACC Police Academy immediately following.
IMPORTANT-All applicants who advance to the Physical Agility Examination MUST bring the completed DOCUMENTS PACKET(CLICK TO DOWNLOAD) with them to the Physical Agility Examination.

3. Credit Disclosure Authorization
ORAL EXAMINATION
With successful completion of the physical agility test(s), the top 25 applicants from the written examination will be scheduled for an oral examination.
HIRING PROCESS
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a polygraph examination, medical examination, psychological examination, drug test screening, an extensive background investigation, and will be required to meet any requirements set by the Municipal Police Officers Education Training Commission (M.P.O.E.T.C.). ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT
The Lebanon City Police Department is a full service department providing 24 hour police services to the many citizens and visitors of the City of Lebanon. The department has 41 sworn police officers, three administrative civilian employees and manages fifteen civilian crossing guards.
The Department includes the following Divisions
- Patrol Division
- Canine Unit
- Bicycle Unit
- Detective Division (Criminal Investigations)
- Administrative/Community Relations Division
- Support Services Division
- Records Section
The Police Department’s main objectives include the reduction of crime and fear of crime, the apprehension and successful prosecution of offenders, the enforcement of traffic and parking laws, the reduction of traffic accidents and having a highly visible presence in the community and at community events.
