Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years of age by the date of the written examination
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be a United States citizen
- Possession of a valid driver’s license at time of application
- You DO NOT need to be ACT 120 certified to take this test
- You DO NOT need any prior police knowledge or experience
Background / Character Standards:
- Demonstrated history of good moral character, integrity, and ethical conduct
- Drug-Free Requirement: All applicants must have no marijuana use within two years of the date of the application and no use of any other illegal drugs or prescription medications not prescribed to them within five years of the date of the application. Any drug use beyond these timeframes will be evaluated on a strict, case-by-case basis, with very limited tolerance for any past illegal drug use. Meeting the minimum time requirements does not guarantee that a candidate will be deemed acceptable for further consideration.
- All applicants are subject to a thorough background investigation, which includes but is not limited to a medical evaluation, drug screen, psychological evaluation, and polygraph examination.
Job Description/General Duties:
Middletown Township Police Officers are responsible for protecting life and property, preserving the peace, enforcing laws and ordinances, preventing and investigating crime, responding to emergencies, assisting the public, conducting traffic enforcement, preparing reports, and working in partnership with the community to enhance public safety and quality of life.

Testing Requirements:
Candidates must first successfully pass the physical agility portion of the test to be able to sit for the written examination. A minimum score of 70 in the written exam is required to be considered for further advancement in the testing process.

Testing date is September 19, 2026 with an arrival time of 7:30 am and test start time of 8:00 am.
