Montague Police Department
Now Hiring: Entry Level and Lateral Transfer Officers
Salary: $24.59-$32.35 with a 2.5% increase July 1-Town is currently conducting a Reclassification of the Wage Scale
Minimum Requirements
- Be a United States citizen
- Be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment
- Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have or be able to obtain a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms, “LTC"
Compensation and Benefits
- Educational incentive 10%, 20% & 25%
- 4&2 schedule
- Health & Dental insurance
Application Process:
- Prior to appointment, candidates are subject to:
- Extensive background check
- Psychological examination
- Medical examination
- Interview process
- Required to pass the MPTC fitness test
- If not a POST certified lateral transfer, must be required to attend and pass 800 hour MPTC police academy
