ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- You must first take and pass the Police Officer Written Examinations. There are two options accepted by the City of New London for taking the written examination: CPCA Written Exam OR LEC Written Exam.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be a citizen of theUnited States
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State ofCTdrivers license
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of a Police Officer
- Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, polygraph, medical and psychological examinations along with controlled substance screening
- Must be in and remain in good physical condition
CT P.O.S.T. CERTIFIED OFFICER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Certified Police Officer having graduated from the CT P.O.S.T. Academy to apply for the Certified Officer Position!
