NORTH PROVIDENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT RECRUITMENT
The North Providence Police Department is now accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for future appointments as a Probationary Police Officer.
All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must successfully complete the physical fitness assessment test and written examination through a third-party testing vendor
- Must complete and pass other applicable requirements as set forth in the recruitment process
BENEFITS:
Effective 07/2026:
- Starting Salary $71,787 - Top Step (3-Years) Patrol Officer $83,285
- Total Potential for 5-year Patrol Officer: $94,784 + OT/ Details
- Salary, Longevity, Holiday Pay and Clothing Allowance

- 50% at 20 Years
- Additional 2% Each Year After 20 Years
