        NORTH PROVIDENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT RECRUITMENT

The North Providence Police Department is now accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for future appointments as a Probationary Police Officer.

 All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete the physical fitness assessment test and written examination through a third-party testing vendor
  • Must complete and pass other applicable requirements as set forth in the recruitment process

Effective 07/2026:

  • Starting Salary $71,787 - Top Step (3-Years) Patrol Officer $83,285
  • Total Potential for 5-year Patrol Officer: $94,784 + OT/ Details 
    • Salary, Longevity, Holiday Pay and Clothing Allowance

    • 10 Years Vested
    • 50% at 20 Years
    • Additional 2% Each Year After 20 Years
