Township of Hamilton Job Announcement

Police Officer

Must possess valid NJ PTC certification or waiver eligible NJ Class II Certification

(Current academy recruits are eligible to apply)

  • The Township of Hamilton is accepting applications for Police Officer.
  • The applicant must be a Citizen of the United States, be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license; be able to read, write, and speak the English language; be sound in body and health; be of good moral character and not have been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
  • The applicant must possess a minimum of either 60+ credits from an accredited college or university that is regionally recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) OR have 4 years of Military Service.
  • The applicant will undergo drug screening, psychological testing, and oral interviews. At the time of appointment as a police officer, the applicant must be a resident of New Jersey and possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • Applications and all supporting documents will be completed and submitted through www.policeapp.com
  • Deadline for applications: Friday, August 13, 2021

A Fully Completed Application Packet Must Include:

  • A Township of Hamilton Employment Application (submitted online through PoliceApp.com)
  • Proof of PTC certification or waiver eligible Class II certification.
  • A copy of the applicant's valid driver's license indicating name and residence. At the time of appointment as a police officer, the applicant must be a resident of New Jersey and possess a valid New Jersey Driver's License and shall not be less than 21 years of age. 
  • Proof that the applicant has either: A) Accumulated 60 or more credits from an accredited college or university that is regionally recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A copy of the applicant's diploma or an unofficial transcript with the applicant's name is acceptable. OR B) Has completed 4 years of Military service.
