The Verona Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer from qualified NJ residents, who DO NOT possess a NJ PTC Certification. Verona Police Minimum Application Requirements
Selection Process
The hiring process includes an extensive background investigation, drug screening, oral interview, and a medical examination and psychological evaluation upon conditional appointment. Candidates will also be REQUIRED to attend and graduate from a NJ Police Academy, Basic Course for Police Officers. Verona PD will sponsor your admittance, pay for all required training gear and equipment, and pay you a salary during attendance.
Residency
Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey for not less than six months and must be a citizen of the United States.
Driver’s License
Candidates must have a current and valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
Background
Candidates must have a good reputation and be of sound moral character.
Any conviction for an indictable offense or other crimes or offenses is subject to evaluation during a background investigation.
Benefits
Starting Pay $42,602-$150,325 (10 Step Salary Guide)
Medical, Prescription, Dental, Paid Sick Leave
12-Hour Patrol Modified Pitman Schedule
2.5% Nighttime Differential Pay
