Department Overview
On behalf of the Grafton Police Department, we welcome your interest in our department. We are extremely proud of our community and our relatively low overall crime rate. We have 23 full-time sworn personnel, four full-time civilian dispatchers and an Administrative Assistant. Our philosophy is that preventing crime and being proactive is the key to maintaining a high quality of life in this community. We believe in the Community Oriented Policing approach in dealing with the many problems we face each day. Community Policing is a philosophy of becoming involved with the people we serve and working together as a team to solve the problems that lead to crime. We are a progressive department with the main objective of making the Town of Grafton a place where people would like to live and work.

About Our Community
The town of Grafton is a suburb located approximately 30 miles west of Boston and is bordered by the city of Worcester, with a growing population of approximately 20K residents. Approximately 85 miles of town maintained roadways in addition to the Mass Pike and State Routes 122,140 and 30 connect Grafton to surrounding towns and major highways. An MBTA Commuter Rail Station is located on the east side of town in close proximity to Tufts Animal Hospital and Cummings Veterinary School. The town is home to a growing number of large and small commercial businesses as well as pubs and restaurants. Grafton maintains small town charm while offering state of the art Public Safety, Education and Department of public works facilities.
