Job Announcement:
The Jamestown Fire Department is hiring Per-Diem EMT-Basics to supplement our current duty crews. Starting rate is $ 20.00 per hour. Applicants should have a minimum of (1) year experience as a licensed EMT B and have experience in completing patient care reports. Applicants must have a valid RI drivers license and be able to competently drive Rescue vehicles. Applicants must also be able to lift and move patients.
The Jamestown Fire Department is a call fire department that responds to approximately 650 EMS calls per year, with approximately 492 transports to ER facilities in RI, 90% of those are to Newport ER.
Shifts are 9am-5pm. Duty crews consists of (1) or (2) ALS providers, a BLS provider and call/volunteer personnel. Additional shifts are potentially available from 8am-6pm and 6pm-8am when required.
