Town of Middlebury

Middlebury is a diverse community of approximately 8.500 permanent residents.  It is comprised of 38 square miles located in the west central part of Vermont.  Middlebury is the shire town of Addison County, which is largely rural.  Middlebury, therefore, is home to many of the state services in the county, such as the courts, Porter Medical Center, Department for Children and Families, employment and welfare offices.  It is also the center for education, business and industry in this part of the state.  The Town has a village center where most services, retail, housing and industry are located.  The remainder of the community is made up of scattered housing developments, agricultural land and the village of East Middlebury.
