The Newton Police Department is made up of eight Full-Time Police Officers. The Town of Newton is a small rural community of approximately 5,000 residents. The Newton Police Department values its mission and makes strides to actively improve the quality of life for every resident by reducing crime, as well as the fear of crime, empowering the citizens and achieving integral working relationships with our community. The Newton Police Department takes pride in developing its officers with continued training after their academy graduation. The department seeks candidates who value and understand the meaning of community respect, trust, and confidence.

The mission of the Newton Police Department is to actively improve the quality of life within the Town by reducing crime, as well as the fear of crime, empowering the citizens and achieving integral working relationships with our community, appointed and elected officials, emergency services and other communities, functioning within the framework of our justice and social service systems
