Applications will be accepted for the position of Firefighter/EMT from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM weekdays during the period of April 17, 2024 through December 29, 2025. The deadline to submit applications will be 3:30 PM on December 31, 2025. Application may be filled out on www.FireFighterApp.com/NorthProvidenceFD
Applicants must meet the following:
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age by the close of the application period.
- Must be a US citizen (Birth Certificate and/or US-INS Papers).
- Must be a High School graduate or possess a GED Certificate.
- Must possess a current Rhode Island EMT License.
- Must obtain a Rhode Island EMT Cardiac License within 24 months of hiring.
- Must have a valid certificate of completion of the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs Physical Performance Assessment (PPA) upon oral interview date. https://rifirechiefs.com/ppa-info/
- Must have a valid certificate of completion from the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs written exam with a score of 70% and above upon oral interview date. https://rifirechiefs.com/ppa-info/
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must submit a copy of your driving record (obtained from the Operator Control Office-Registry of Motor Vehicles from the state in which you reside)
- Must submit a copy of your Criminal History Record (obtained from the Department of Attorney General in the state in which you reside).
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of a Firefighter
- Must agree to remain tobacco free while on duty as a condition of employment, signed affidavit required prior to entrance in the Recruit Training Academy
- May submit a 1-page resume with application.
Applicants must complete the application on FirefighterApp.com along with copies of the following: birth certificate or US-INS papers, driver’s license, high school diploma or GED Certificate, PPA Completion Certificate, EMT License, copy of Driving Record and copy of Criminal History Record
