Norton Fire Department

Build your career with Norton Fire

At the Norton Fire Department, every member is a firefighter and a paramedic. You’ll work alongside skilled, motivated professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to our community.

We’re a progressive department that invests in its people. Our salary and benefits are among the best in the area, with additional stipends and incentives for certifications, degrees, and specialty positions. We value members who want to keep learning and help shape the future of the department.
Your safety matters here. With strong support from the Norton community, we provide modern, well-maintained apparatus and personal protective equipment that goes beyond what many departments offer. A new tower truck, pumper, and ambulance are on order for delivery within the next six months. Members also have access to an on-site fitness facility and sauna.

Norton is home to nearly 20,000 people across 28 square miles. Our response area includes interstate highways, large bodies of water, industrial facilities, railways, a college, and residential and senior living complexes. We answer more than 4,000 calls for service each year, often with multiple incidents happening at once. This provides ample opportunity to put your training to work and build experience throughout your career.

There is also room to pursue additional interests. Members can seek specialized training and serve on departmental or regional teams, including dive and technical rescue, arson investigation, and drone operations. Opportunities also include mentoring, EMS, training, and the Fire Alarm Division, to name a few. Through our regional mutual aid partnerships, members work alongside neighboring departments and may take details at major concert and sports venues, as well as local PGA and LPGA events.
We take pride in the service we provide. Every interaction is a chance to show professionalism, accountability, and genuine care for the people who depend on us.\

If you want a career that challenges you, supports your growth, and lets you make a difference, join the Norton Fire Department.
