STAFFORD TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT
PART-TIME FIREARMS INVESTIGATOR
The Stafford Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of part-time firearms investigator. The closing date for applications will be Friday, October 25, 2019 at 4:00 PM.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of New Jersey and have a valid NJ driver’s license
- Must have retired from a New Jersey Law Enforcement Agency in good standing
- Experience with the firearms application procedure is recommended
- Be of sound moral character verified by a background investigation
Job requirements:
- Responsible for reviewing and approving firearm identification card applications, permits to purchase handgun applications, and permit to carry firearms
- Responsible for completing a background investigation to include a check of the following:
- Criminal History Check
- NCIC
- ATS
- ACS
- Domestic Violence Database
- DMV Records
- Promis Gavel
Testing procedures:
- Application review
- Oral interview
- Background investigation
Salary:
- $27.00 per hour – 20 hour part-time work week
