ABOUT US 

The Akron Borough Police Department consists of  5 full-time Officers and 3  part-time Officers.

Our Department has Officers who are:

  •  Certified Firearms Instructor (both Patrol Rifle and  Handgun)
  •  Certified Taser Instructor
  •  Member of the Lancaster   County Crisis  Intervention Team
  •  Certified Bicycle Officers
  •  Members of the Lancaster County  Child Abuse Cadre

The Police Department utilizes three marked patrol vehicles and we also have two Trek Mountain Bikes for our bike patrol officers.  The Akron Borough Police Department wants to remind residents to lock up their homes and vehicles to help protect themselves and their property against crime, report any suspicious persons or activities immediately, and utilize crime prevention tools such as motion detector lights and dead bolt locks.
